FCF
PROJECT GOAL: To design a refined and cohesive brand identity, elevating their previous self-designed logo with a professional rebrand and name change. The project included a complete logo suite, postcards, and product collateral, designed to reflect their craftsmanship and strengthen their connection to the local community.
SCOPE OF WORK: brand identity, logo design, collateral, rebrand
VIBE: earthy, natural, authentic, rustic, handcrafted
Loma Mar FCF is a husband-and-wife business rooted in craftsmanship and community. The husband, a self-taught bladesmith, hand-forges knives using reclaimed leaf springs for the blades and naturally shed elk antler for the handles. Designed for function and longevity, their knives are sold primarily through pop-ups on the California coast in Loma Mar, Pescadero, and beyond. Their strong ties to the local community are reflected in their partnerships with nearby vendors, creating a network of support and collaboration.
The color palette of deep forest greens, warm khaki, and soft cream creates an earthy, artisanal feel. Nestled in the heart of the forest, Loma Mar Forge reflects its surroundings by sourcing some of their knife materials directly from nature. The distressed texture seen throughout the logo and typography reinforces the brand’s handcrafted, rugged character. At the core of their business is a deep connection to the natural world and a respect for its resources.
